Google Pulls 21 Malicious Apps From the Market


To protect the users of android products. Google removed 21 apps, that were confirmed malware, from the android market. The apps were on the android market from the publisher “Myournet”. The list includes

Super History Eraser (pirated copy of another publisher’s app)

Super Ringtone Maker
Super Sex Positions
Hot Sexy Videos
Chess

The apps were designed to get root access to the android device, collect user information, and gives a backdoor that allows more malicious code to be loaded to the phone and executed. Before Google pulled the app from the Android Marketplace, these 21 apps have been downloaded more than 50,000 times in total. Reports also saying that one of the app, “Super History Eraser”, published by Myournet was a pirated copy of another paid app and loaded with malicious code.

The malicious code does not affect
