48 Hours Of Video Uploaded To YouTube Every Minute
More than 48 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, according to YouTube on their sixth birthday.
It seems so long ago, May 2005 YouTube launched YouTube.com to provide people with a platform to broadcast themselves to the world. As of today more than 48 hours (two days) worth of videos are uploaded to the video sharing site every minute. That is an amazing 37% increase over the last six months, and 100% gain over last year.
So what can you do in 48 hours? YouTube says we can:
- You could drive non-stop across the country from California’s YouTube HQ to New York City
- You could undertake a massive movie marathon by watching the entire Back to the Future trilogy eight and a half times
Along with the video upload record, YouTube hit past 3 billion views per day, which is a 50% increase over last year. That’s half the world’s population watching a YouTube video everyday,
YouTube announced all these stats in a lengthy blog post today. If you want to visualize these stats look below.
