Box Offering Free 50GB of Cloud Storage To iOS Users

Not even a week after the release of iOS 5 and iCloud, another cloud storage company is offering up free space for those accessing its service on an iOS device. Box.net announced today that starting midnight tonight and going on for the next 50 days they will be offering a staggering 50GB of free space for people who access their application and signup.

50GB is a lot of space, iCloud only offeres 5GB for free. Getting cloud storage to store almost anything you can think of from HD movies to your entire music library. This isn’t even for a limited time, once you signup and get your 50GB of space it is yours to keep, forever.

It starts tonight at midnight and here’s what you need to do to get it:

This promotion starts at midnight tonight and runs for only 50 days, so get your free space in the cloud by following these steps:

  1. Visit the app store and download the Box app for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
  2. Log in to your account or register for a new one directly from the app
  3. Start sharing and collaborating in the cloud
  4. (optional but recommended) Tell the world how you’ll use your 50 GB with the hashtag #Box50GB

This is for all iOS users and will be on both iPads and iPhones, even those iPod touches. Their most recent update integrates AirPlay into the application letting you stream movies and videos wirelessly to any AirPlay enabled device. Those of you with AppleTVs will even work to.

Box.net is an incredible service allowing for everyone and even businesses to collaborate and store documents. Their basic free plan lets you add collaborators to a folder so that you can allow people to upload documents and let people add to a project.

Next time instead of using a USB device or email, think about Box.net where you can store almost anything for a presentation.

Remember:

Keep in mind you’ll need to download or update to the newest Box for iPhone and iPad app, version 2.4.3, then log into Box in order to get 50 GB. Something else cool: Your account will have an increased file size upload limit of 100MB instead of the usual 25MB!

With iOS 5, our phones become our future with notifications, collaboration and entertainment and Box.net is giving you a head start to manage and store documents created on your phone.
