Government Speed Test

The US Government has recently launched a website dedicated to the testing and recording of average regional broadband speeds.

In a joint effort with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), the data collected is planned to be used in future plans to expand the nation’s comparatively lacking fiber network . The project is being supported by the National Broadband Plan passed by Congress in 2009, as well as continued governmental interest in the technical advancement of small business.

broadband.gov provides convenient instructions and allows the process to remain simple for the end user. Ultimately, the data being recorded will benefit both the end user as well as the entirety of the Untied States through drastically improved fiber speed and throughput.
