HapiFork by Jacques Lépine
One of the main reasons to the high rate of obesity in America is how people eat. They usually eat too fast for the body to tell the brain to stop eating. One company is trying to solve that issue.
Over at the CES 2013, HapiFork unveiled their digital fork; a fork with a computer inside of it. Using a capacitive detection system, the computer in the fork monitors how quickly the person is eating and vibrates when the fork believes that the person is eating too quickly.
The HapiFork will begin crowd funding, on sites like KickStarter or IndiGoGo (though undetermined at this point), sometime in February. Pricing and availability is unknown at this time.
