Nintendo Announces Wii Mini - Exclusive to Canada

It seems like earlier today Best Buy spilled the beans before Nintendo could announce their next big release. The Wii is semi-popular and for the die hard Nintendo fans is one of their favorite consoles. To begin with, the Wii isn’t a very big device and can fit in many small places. So why would we need a smaller Wii?

Announced today from Nintendo, the Wii Mini is ofically announce for release on December 7th. unfortunately, if you’re not in Canada you can’t have it. It seems this new product is exclusive to Canada only, hopefully for a limited time. It looks like a small set-top box with a red trim around the edge.

The Wii Mini comes clad with a nice red controller for the holiday season and will cost a nice $99. This new device is meant to be for those who think the regular Wii and Wii U is too expensive and needs a cheap alternative. At $99 it is an impulse by that I’m sure will fly off the shelves on the first day.

Two big downsides to this device comes if you still play GameCube games on your Wii, this device will not have compatibility for GameCube games seen in other variants. A second bigger cut is internet access, apparently there isn’t a internet compatibility with the device, although it would make for a nice Netflix box.

The Wii Mini would be great for the very casual game player who doesn’t need access to the internet and want to play casual-based games.
