Beam Remote Presence

While some people cannot be in Las Vegas during CES, it does not mean that they cannot attend the convention. Over at the Beam  booth at CES 2013, they showed off their Remote Presence technology which allows people to interact and communicate with each other like they were talking face to face.  Unlike services like Apple’s FaceTime or Skype, Beam allows users to take control of the hardware and drive it over to a desired area, eliminating the need to tell the other person where to go and what to look for.

In the interview, we talked with Stephane, who was actually in Palo Alto, California and using the service to connect to a mechanical device in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With a technology like this, the use for it is almost limitless.
