Google Kills The Wave
It has been a year since Google announced the developer preview of Google Wave at Google I/O. It now looks like the end of the road for Google Wave.
Essentially, Google Wave is a web app for real time communication and collaboration. Although it was a communication and collaboration tool, most users did not truly understand on how to use it.
On Google’s Official Blog, Urs Hölzle, Senior VP of Operations announced that, due to lower than desired user adoption rate, there will be no plans to continue developing Google Wave as a standalone product.  The site will be maintained, at least, till the end of the year. Urs Hölzle has also stated that tools will be soon be released “so that users can easily ‘liberate’ their content from Wave”. They plan to extend the technology to other Google services, like drag-and-drop, “playback”, and character-by-character live typing.
Although it looks like Wave will be closed and discarded, the tools will be migrated into other Google Services.
