How Green Is Your iPad? [INFOGRAPHIC]
Do you know the environmental impact of your iPad? I bet you’ve never thought about where your iPad comes from and what really goes into it. If you look at the iPad, Apple has taken great quality into using environmentally friendly products. That screen is made with arsenic-free glass and uses less power than a light bulb to run. A lot of the components in the iPad can be recycled which is big when saving the environment.
One iPad’s CO2 emissions equal driving a car over 500 miles or 24 books or three years worth of newspapers. If you compare the older iPad’s to The New iPad, the new iPad has more CO2 emissions than the previous ones. Over the past three versions of the iPad, Apple has put out over 7.5 million metric tons of CO2 just for all the iPad’s combined.
Take a look at the infographic below from Sortable and see all the emissions it takes to produce just one iPad.
