Google's Android 2.3 Source Code Released
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has been released fromÂ GoogleÂ and is now in the Android open source project repositoryÂ to be downloaded andÂ analyzed. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) changed the UI of the mobile OS with changes in design of the status bar, keyboard, and menu; performance improvements; added more video and audio codecs;Â accessÂ to multipleÂ cameras; integrated VoIP support;Â Â and added more features. While the source code isÂ availableÂ to be downloaded currently, the group is requesting for users to wait a while to download the code to keep a balance of downloads and not bring the host down.
